For our very first WOD Impact Member Spotlight it's our pleasure to introduce you to Women of Denver member Carlie Ransom.
Carlie is a Financial Advisor with Finity Group, LLC where she lives her passion for helping others succeed in leading a healthy financial life.
What do people often thank you for?
In my business, I get thanked for the financial advice I provide that often leads to immediate results. I also get thanked for helping other entrepreneurs shine through the Rising Tides Women's network.
What's been inspiring you lately?
Warriors for social justice inspire me. For example today I just read an article written by my friend, Reagan Jackson, about community leaders of color greeting students with high fives on their first day of school. This happened even though a similar planned event was cancelled for security reasons. The path to local and global social justice is not easy so I'm glad that these inspirational warriors keep trying despite the resistance.
What do you love most about WOD?
I love how Krystal Covington leads by example. She shows us how to be seen, heard and known and then gives us the skills and opportunities through WOD to do it ourselves. I also love the inspiring members of the group. Every time I go to an event I meet someone with a unique and interesting story. I wish I could attend even more events than I do.
Tell us about a recent accomplishment you're proud of
In July I opened the first Finity Group office of Colorado. This was scary because I had to break my affiliation with my previous firm, ask my clients to move with me and then set up the office by myself.
This really made me appreciate the I.T. departments of my past, but it has been a blast. I look forward to expanding the office in the near future.
What else would you like us to share about you?
I like to start my day by thinking "I wonder what exciting thing will happen today?"
