What does it mean to be a great leader?

A great leader is encouraging. They listen and support others in becoming the best they can be. They bring the energy to let others shine and they create more leaders.

Any kind of leader is vital in today’s world when there are so many needs. There are people who feel broken, businesses looking for growth and those on a journey to become a better person. They all need leaders.

Do you feel you're a leader? Why or why not?

I do feel I’m a leader. I’m a leader in the entrepreneurial world and in the networking world in Denver.

The time I spent in corporate really showed me where I didn’t belong. I felt I wouldn’t have impact there and I didn’t know why. It was because the companies are just so big it is difficult to make a difference.

Now as an entrepreneur I have the freedom to impact people. People want the strategies, but also the heart that I bring along with it. People really do want my input, they show up, and they take action on what I lead them to.

Tell a story of a time you took the lead -- what was your motivation?

I was invited by a very prestigious business coach to take over teaching her Denver program of a year long mastermind “the Top 6 Club.” This is for people who want to reach 6 figures in their businesses. I had no idea that my mentor had her eye on me as the person she wanted to teach to replicate her program in the Denver market. I didn’t think I was the best at anything, but her belief in me helped me to believe in myself.

I help people more effectively help others. My clients are becoming stronger leaders because of the things I do to help them. They impact the world in big ways. I’m creating new leaders within the mastermind and showing them how to be their best.

I’m very proud to be a leader in a business where there is so much hope. People think that being a great leader means having a large audience, but I see leaders all around me. It doesn't matter what part you play, you can still be a leader to someone.
