Get ready for a dose of inspiration this week as we introduce you to WOD Impact Member Roxy Rahim. As a lifestyle and fitness coach, Roxy spends her days motivating those around her to be their best self. However, she would say that the real source of inspiration is from within.
What do people often thank you for?
Well my husband thanks me everyday for being amazing. . . . Does that count? But seriously, people, mainly my clients, often thank me for helping them reach their goals - for showing them that they actually CAN do what they thought they once couldn't. I also get thanked a lot for not judging where people are in their journey whether it be their fitness journey or just life in general.
What's been inspiring you lately?
ME! For me I find that looking for inspiration somewhere other than myself is only a temporary fix. I'm in for the long haul, and if I'm constantly looking for inspiration in someone else or something else, is that really where my energy is best spent? I think it's important to look within and find what qualities I already possess to keep me inspired and motivated. I want to continue to grow and nurture those qualities to be the best version of myself that I can. After all I am in the business of inspiring people to evolve into the best versions of who they already are.
What do you love most about WOD?
I love all the AMAZING woman I have met. I love that I always leave with a "positive energy" high whenever attending an event. Everyone is so welcoming. It just feels good to be surrounded by so many wonderful woman. I also love all the different events and workshops I've definitely learned a lot since I've been a part of the group.
Tell us about a recent accomplishment you're proud of
This has been a year of commitment for me, and what I mean by that is truly committing myself to my self care and self love. I've been in the fitness industry since 2012 and I've had to take a few steps back this year to really take note of what makes me happy. What I do daily truly affects everything in my life. With a lot of personal growth work and some fabulous coaching I have finally figured out what I need to do for me every day to keep me aligned with my highest self so I can better serve my clients and those around me.
What else would you like us to share about you?
I'm not the personal trainer who became a personal trainer because they've worked out their whole life and they like it. Fitness hasn't always been a part of my life, and I actually didn't like working out until I became a trainer. And if I'm honest there are still days where I don't like it. However, I DO like how I feel when I'm consistently doing something for myself physically, whether it's going to yoga, going for a walk or jog around the lake, or getting in a quick 30 minute workout. I know the struggles in making healthy lifestyle changes, I've lived them and worked through them. I know what it feels like to fail and feel like you are starting all over. It can be hard for sure but it's a journey worth living, and I wouldn't have lived it any other way.
